Kleos Mastiha

Created by Effie Panagopoulos, the first Greek woman (and Boston woman) in history to found a spirit brand, and made by Greece’s first known female distiller.

The raw ingredient, Mastiha (mas-tee-hah) is a sap from the ‘Skinos’ tree that grows only in 24 villages in the southern part of the Greek island of Chios. Mastiha is known as the ‘diamond of spices’ because of its rarity, and the ancient world‘s ‘super ingredient’ due to its variety of healing properties, and has the honor of being the world’s first chewing gum.

KLEOS is made by hand in small batches, via a distillation of the rare Mastiha ‘tears’ and the addition of Mastiha essential oils.

Stray Dog Wild Gin started with a challenge: is it possible to bottle a moment? Not just any moment, but one that captures the spontaneous and free spirit of Greece. Where an unexpected turn off an island road leads to a secret beach. Or wandering through the cobblestone streets of Athens until sunrise reminds you that some nights can never be planned, you can only let them happen.

The idea for Stray Dog Wild Gin came about in such a moment. Inspired by an off-road exploration through the mountains of northern Greece, Johnny Livanos set to work alongside our master distiller to find the perfect combination of wild-foraged botanicals, Mediterranean citrus, and mountain spring water to capture the essence of the untamed life.

Hand-crafted in small batches using traditional copper pot stills, Stray Dog Wild Gin embodies what happens when we allow ourselves to let life unfold, and to appreciate the time and the beauty that is right in front of us.

Tina’s vodka label is inspired by the beauty of this incredibly sophisticated and creative Planet Earth that knows how to sustain life in infinite ways.  

Bubo, the owl of the Greek Goddess Athena, sits atop Planet Earth representing the wisdom and majesty of this beautiful pale blue dot that we call home.  

The tree shaped as Planet Earth - Planet Earth shaped as a tree representing the seeds that innately know how to grow into a plant from the Earth: the thought and the thing, the idea and the manifestation, the root and the offspring, and the Alpha and Omega, and the journey in between Α Ω.

We only use organic corn that was grown in organic soil from the USA's midwestern farmers  without pesticides, glyphosate, or genetically modified seeds.
